State Farm Won't Renew Thousands of Floridians Homeowner Policies - Saturday, January 30, 2010
State Farm Insurance Companies won't be renewing many property insurance contracts this year. Non-renewal notices will be sent to 125,000 former customers, telling them Illinois based State Farm won't renew their policies in hurricane prone Florida where State Farm insures over 700,000 homes. The first notices have already been mailed.
While storm damage from hurricanes is rare, a hurricane can ravage even inland homes when it comes ashore. Storm damage can also result from severe windstorms, thunderstorms and tornadoes. Homeowners insurance is supposed to cover storm damage, and other damage to property such as fire. But often, insurers don't live up to their obligations. If your insurance company has denied a claim, call The Florida Firm for a free legal consultation.
