Buy Uninsured Motorist Coverage - Sunday, April 18, 2010
Uninsured motorist coverage is an optional automobile coverage that Florida law does not require drivers to purchase when they own a car. You can legally decline this important coverage, but that is a BIG mistake. Even in good times, estimates are that about 1 in 4 cars on the road in Florida have no liability insurance to cover injuries to others. Even more drivers operate their cars with very low policy limits that do little to compensate for serious injuries to others. In down economic times like these, even more drivers stop paying for liability insurance to save money, and Florida law does not require most family automobiles to carry liability coverage. So, when you renew your policy, be sure you protect yourself by buying uninsured motorist coverage.
