On the heels of the hundreds of deaths and thousands of serious bleeding events linked to Pradaxa, we wanted to make you aware of some concerns some of the country’s top heart doctors have with one of the newer blood thinners on the market – Xarelto.
Xarelto (rivaroxaban), which is manufactured by Bayer and marketed in the United States by Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, was approved in 2011. Beginning in 2012, Xarelto was associated with serious, sometimes fatal, internal bleeding and brain hemorrhaging incidents. Much like the blood thinner Pradaxa, which settled thousands of lawsuits in 2013, there is no known antidote for bleeding caused by Xarelto. The failure to warn consumers of the potentially fatal shortcoming of the drug will be central to any lawsuits filed on behalf of those injured, or the families of those who have died, as a result of Xarelto-related bleeding events.
If you, or a loved one, have had serious or fatal bleeding events such as intestinal or brain hemorrhaging, please contact Colling Gilbert Wright & Carter for a free evaluation of your potential legal claims.
