Car Accidents Cost $ 99 Billion Each Year

A new report from the Centers for Disease Control found the costs from injuries from car accidents in one year was $ 99 billion. The cost of medical care accounted for $ 17 billion of that amount. That’s nearly $ 500 for every driver licensed in the U.S. Non fatal injuries accounted for $ 70 billion related to car and light truck accidents, $ 12 billion for motorcycle accidents, $ 10 billion for pedestrian accidents, and $ 5 billion for bicycle accidents.
According to the CDC, someone is treated in an emergency room for automobile accident related injuries every 10 seconds and nearly 40,000 people die annually from motor vehicle accidents.
