The stretch of I-95 in Florida is the deadliest highway in the nation according to The Daily Beast website based upon federal statistics. The 395 miles of I-95 that runs the entire length of Florida’s east coast has the worst rate of deadly accidents in the entire United States according to data collected on fatal accidents by the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration. Interstate 4 ranked as the third worst highway for deadly accidents. From 2004 to 2008 there were over 650 fatal accidents on I-95, about 1.7 fatal accidents per mile. There were over 200 fatal accidents along I-4, or about 1.6 fatal accidents per mile. Often, speed is a major causative factor.
