Uninsured motorist coverage, which insures you and your family for injuries when the motorist at fault is uninsured or underinsured, is more important in Florida than in most states. A study by the Insurance Research Council in 2009 found Florida to have more uninsured drivers than most states and that the problem was likely to get worse with the recession.
