Uninsured Motorist Insurance-Dont Leave Home Without It
The Insurance Research Council reports that about one in every six drivers in the U.S.A. may be driving uninsured in 2010. The IRC study also reports that Florida ranks number 5 in the states with the greatest number of uninsured drivers. Twenty three percent (23%) of Florida’s drivers are uninsured. If you include drivers who are underinsured with low liability insurance limits that don’t adequately cover serious or catastrophic injuries and deaths, the statistics are far worse.
Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage protects you from drivers who don’t buy adequate insurance to cover injuries they cause to others. As you can see from this study, you shouldn’t leave home without it. So, before you leave home in your car, ask your agent if you have uninsured motorist coverage. If you don’t, be sure you add this valuable coverage for your family’s protection.
