Florida Senate Seeks To Protect ER Doctors Even If They Are Grossly Negligent
The Florida Senate has taken up a controversial bill seeking to immunize emergency room physicians from lawsuits. This new bill would protect doctors in emergency rooms from lawsuits arising from simple mistakes to outright gross negligence. Damages would be capped at $ 200,000 no matter what the injury and taxpayers would have to foot the bill to defend any emergency room doctor sued for a mistake or even gross negligence in providing emergency room care.
Remove accountability, and remove the incentive to do a good job for people. No matter what the profession. Contact your senator and tell them to vote against this bill that gives special rights to emergency room doctors and leaves taxpayers footing the bill for reckless medical care.
