Paul J. Morgan
Paul J. Morgan has exclusively represented injured workers and disabled individuals since 1986. In addition to 35 years’ experience heading the firm of Paul J, Morgan & Associates, P.A., which is AV rated (highest rating) by Martindale Hubbell, he has recently taken on the role of “of counsel” with the Orlando firm of Colling, Gilbert, Wright, specializing in Social Security Disability law. Paul Morgan is an acknowledged “Florida Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters. His practice focus is in the areas of Social Security Disability Claims, for which he is nationally board certified with the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA). He is also a specialist in the area of Workers’ Compensation, for which the Florida Bar recognizes him as being Board Certified. For his work providing pro bono legal services to his community, he has been recognized in Florida and by the Texas Supreme Court.
In addition to Florida, Mr. Morgan is admitted to practice in the states of Texas, Colorado and Ohio. His Social Security practice is national and Mr. Morgan is able to represent at the administrative level clients in any state. He also has active membership in The Florida Bar, the Florida Justice Association and the Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association. He is experienced and actively licensed at all levels of Social Security and Workers’ Compensation Administrative law, as well as State and Federal Appellate work in those areas.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati, Mr. Morgan continued his law education and received his Juris Doctor from the University Of Cincinnati College Of Law with honors. After one year practicing law for a small firm in Cincinnati, in 1982, he and his wife (now 44 years married) moved to Orlando to take an Attorney position with the nationally recognized firm of Akerman, Senterfitt, and was asked to join as senior associate, the spin-off firm of Zimmerman, Shuffield, et al. In 1986, he started his own firm as managing attorney and continues representing individuals who are injured and/or disabled.
Throughout his career, he has successfully litigated cases against most major insurance carriers and manages cases statewide in both appellate work and trial practice. Mr. Morgan spent time with the Orange County Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Program as a volunteer mediator and served as Chair of the Social Security Disability Committee. He has personally appeared in front of both Administrative Law Judges for SSA disability claims and JCC’s for workers’ compensation clients in thousands of cases. He is licensed in both state and the Federal Court in Orlando, as well as the Eleventh Circuit (Appellate) Court, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
