American Board of Trial Advocates Update
CGWC partner, Melvin B. Wright, was recently selected to become a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. ABOTA was founded in 1957 and is an invitation only organization of civil trial attorneys comprised of both plaintiff and defense attorneys, as well as members of the bench. ABOTA is dedicated to preserving the right to trial by jury in civil cases and to the ideals of Thomas Jefferson and the 7th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guaranteeing the right to civil jury trials. ABOTA seeks as members attorneys who display skill, civility and integrity, and has as its goal the education of the public on the vital importance of the right to jury trial in civil cases as guaranteed by the Seventh Amendment.
