Happy Veterans Day 2013
First proclaimed Armistice Day in 1919 by President Woodrow Wilson, Veteran’s Day became a legal federal holiday in 1938 and honors all who have committed their lives to serving the U.S. military. This Veteran’s Day, thank a veteran for their service. Unlike Memorial Day, devoted to honoring those who died in service of their country, Veterans Day honors both the living and the dead who have sacrificed in service of their country.
Veterans, thank you for your commitment to the United States of America, democracy and freedom. Without a strong military committed to the ideals of freedom and justice for all, the United States of American would have fallen long ago. Today, the U.S.A. and our ideals are stronger than ever, thanks to veterans.
