Texting In Big Rigs Banned
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has banned texting while driving commercial motor vehicles, such as 18 wheel tractor trailers. According to the FMCSA truck drivers who text while driving are 23 times more likely to be involved in an accident, near accident, or lane deviation. This new rule sends a clear message to truckers, drivers with commercial drivers’ licenses (CDL’s) and all drivers, that texting while driving should not be tolerated.
